Beenie Man charged

Dancehall entertainer Moses ‘Beenie man’ Davis was this morning charged with assault, occasioning bodily harm when he went to the Hunts Bay Police Station

Beenie Man was charged after a lengthy interview with detectives at the Hunts Bay Police Station. He was charged and given station bail.

Beenie Man's charge arose out of an altercation with LA Lewis after the funeral of Oneil Edwards, deceased Voicemail member last Saturday.

The usually effervescent Beenie shied away from reporters from The Gleaner who tried to get a comment from him. He was eventually whisked away through the rear exit of the station and bundled into a heavily tinted Toyota Coaster Bus parked at the front of the station.

Members of Beenie's entourage told the Gleaner that he would appear in court sometime next month, as he was leaving immediately for a European tour this month.

Beenie's latest troubles stem from an incident when Lewis reportedly slammed into the back of Beenie Man's Audi as both were leaving Edward's funeral. It is alleged that an argument developed between the two, during which Lewis was punched in the face.

Lewis said he was distracted by one of the men in the deejay's entourage and when he turned away he was hit in the left side of the face.

The self-proclaimed seven-star general said he reported the incident to the Duhaney Park Police Station.
