Dj Elephant Man’s attorney to meet with Tax Department

Lawyers representing dancehall entertainer Elephant Man will be meeting with his management team Wednesday to discuss the artiste's tax woes.
Personnel from the Tax Administration Services Department raided the entertainer’s upper St. Andrew apartment on Tuesday.     Members of the Tax Department’s Special Enforcement Team seized a convertible Mercedes Benz motor car owned by Elephant Man, whose real name is O'Neil Bryan.

His attorney, Roderick Gordon, told RJR’s Financial Report that he is trying to ascertain if the artiste has been treated fairly by the tax authorities.
Mr. Gordon says it is unclear how much entertainer owes in taxes.
“I understand that estimated assessments have been raised but I have not seen all the documents that purportedly have been served. Very often, assessments are raised and the taxpayers have the right to challenge those assessments and offer their own account of what they say they owe (but)

I’m not sure if he’s been afforded that opportunity,” Mr. Gordon said.
It is understood that Elephant Man owes the Tax Department more than $10 million in outstanding taxes.
