Jamaica deejay Vybz Kartel's new single Go Go Wine from his upcoming album premieres today on BBC Radio 1.

The single was produced by Brooklyn's Dre Skull and will be premiered with BBC Radio's Toddla T. The single will be for sale on May 3 on Mixpak Records and the album is titled Kingston Story.


Brooklyn-based producer and owner of Mixpak Records, Dre Skull, the luminous Brooklyn producer who has produced gleaming yet super-smart beats for the likes of Sizzla, Ms Thing and Lil Scrappy.
According to a release sent to the weekend star, 'for the first time in many years, Kartel is taking his home country's traditional singles-based riddim culture a step forward, opting to record an expansive concept album. Yet for all its innovation, it's still a true Kingston pop record, not only elevating Kartel's repertoire, but showing the world that contemporary Jamaican styles translate better than ever to crossover rhythmic radio. The result is the robust body of genre-spanning music encompassed on Kingston Story, Vybz Kartel's new album set to be released in June 2011.'
