Mavado’s attorney contacts the police

Christian Tavares-Finson, the attorney for dancehall artiste Mavado, has made contact with the Anchovy Police in St James.

This follows Sunday's request by the police for Mavado, whose given name is David Brooks, to make contact with them in connection with an incident in which a father and his were reportedly wounded by the entertainer and his entourage on Belmont Road on Friday night, July 22.

Julian Jones-Griffiths, Mavado’s manager, says the incident involving a man and his son was a misunderstanding and Mr. Tavares-Finson is in the process of clearing up the matter.

The police had reported that the man had parked his car on Belmont Road on Friday night when Mavado and an entourage drove up.

The artiste reportedly demanded that the man move his vehicle to allow them to pass and avoid a pothole.

However, the man refused.

Members of Mavado's entourage reportedly emerged from the vehicle and began attacking the man and his son with a machete.

Mavado is alleged to have backed the vehicle into the man's car as well, injuring him.

The man reportedly sustained face, back and foot injuries.

His son was also reportedly injured.

He lost several of his teeth and also sustained injuries to his hand.

The alleged attack was reported to the Anchovy Police and the injured man and his son were treated at hospital.
