JLP gives gov't failing grade for first 100 days

An "F" for failure! That's the grade the Opposition is giving the People's National Party administration for its first 100 days in government.

At a press conference Monday afternoon, the JLP assessed the government's performance, claiming it has failed in several areas, while in others it has merely picked up where the previous government left off.   The opposition took many jabs at the government pointing out that in its first 100 days it has failed to distinguish itself from the other political parties.

Leader of the opposition, Andrew Holness said the PNP administration has not implemented promises made during its election campaign and it has not made any clear policy decisions.

Pointing to the Jamaica Emergency Employment Programme, JEEP Mr. Holness said the programme has not been fully rolled out in the first 100 days.  He added that many of the jobs being counted under the programme were already created under the previous government.  Mr Holness also said the PNP has failed to implement the promised removal of GCT on electricity bills, and there is no new IMF deal up to this point.  Mr. Holness also continued that the government has showed no real direction.
