Documents missing in Elephant Man's rape case


Well-known dancehall entertainer Elephant Man, had his bail extended  when he appeared in court on Friday a charge of rape.


During the proceedings, the court was told that the file in the case could not be located and as a result prosecutors requested more time to locate the file.
The case is set for mention again on November 29.
The 37-year-old entertainer, whose given name is Oneil Bryan, was charged in January,2011 following allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman at his St Andrew apartment.
Elephant Man has denied the allegations.

MAN SHORTAGE AFFECTS CHURCHES IN JAMAICA - Christian women complain of lack of potential husbands

he shortage of men has become a growing problem in several Jamaican churches. The st ar understands that with some church population having as much as 80 per cent women, a large number of females have been left with a problem to find husbands. This is a huge concern for a number of churches, with at least one reverend saying the shortage is at a crisis level.Reverend Philbert Johnson, ministry development officer in the New Testament Church of God, said there is a serious shortage in the number of men in the church as women in their 30s and late 40s cannot find a suitable partner. Johnson, a pastor at one of the Testament branches, said at that location he had approximately 300 members of which only 40 were men. He further said that approximately 20 of those are already married.
