Tessanne chin looks for more support to get into the top six

Following her performance on The Voice on Monday night, Jamaica's Tessanne Chin was occupying a spot in the bottom half among the eight contestants in support via iTunes purchases of her performance song on Tuesday morning.

At 6.05am on Tuesday, Tessanne's song - "Underneath it all" (originally recorded by No Doubt, featuring Lady Saw) stood at number 43 on the iTunes list. That placed her behind Will Champlin, ranked at 10, Cole Vosbury, 20, James Wolpert, 24, Jacqui Lee, 32 and Caroline Pennell, 38, placing her at number six on iTunes among the eight remaining contestants.
Ranking of the contestants on the NBC talent show is determined by actual votes and through the purchase of their songs via iTunes. The iTunes ranking is therefore not the only determinant of placement.
Tessanne's performance was well received by the live audience as she gave a full throated rendition of the reggae hit, including the deejay segment which went over very well.
Adam Levine, her coach, could hardly contain himself during her performance of the song he felt was ideal for her to give full expression to her Jamaican identity. Fellow coach, Christina Aguilera was similarly impressed, particularly because she had suggested to Tessanne the previous week that she needed to show more of her Jamaican personality on stage.
The results show on Tuesday evening will see the elimination of two more contestants, trimming the field to six.
