Court hears that Tyrone 'Rhyme-Up' Plummer POPULAR SELECTOR BEATS WOMAN WITH BOARD


Popular sound system selector Tyrone 'Rhyme-Up' Plummer was hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday, after he was accused of breaking a woman's arm during a squabble.


According to reports, on March 8 at around 8 a.m., Plummer and the complainant were engaged in an argument at the complainant's gate, when 'discriminatory' words were said to her by the accused.
Plummer allegedly told the complainant, "Yuh naked gyal, yuh nuh have clothes. Yuh barrel done and yuh hair wah shot off."

The words caused the complainant to throw liquor in Plummer's face and he allegedly responded by using a piece of board to hit the complainant on her right arm causing it to break.
The complainant told the court that her arm was broken in two places.
Plummer is to return to court for mention on May 14.

MAN SHORTAGE AFFECTS CHURCHES IN JAMAICA - Christian women complain of lack of potential husbands

he shortage of men has become a growing problem in several Jamaican churches. The st ar understands that with some church population having as much as 80 per cent women, a large number of females have been left with a problem to find husbands. This is a huge concern for a number of churches, with at least one reverend saying the shortage is at a crisis level.Reverend Philbert Johnson, ministry development officer in the New Testament Church of God, said there is a serious shortage in the number of men in the church as women in their 30s and late 40s cannot find a suitable partner. Johnson, a pastor at one of the Testament branches, said at that location he had approximately 300 members of which only 40 were men. He further said that approximately 20 of those are already married.
