Vybz kartel not on suicide watch

Vybz Kartel's common-law wife, Tanesha 'Shorty' Johnson, is dispelling rumours that her spouse is currently on suicide watch.

The rumours began when a popular local radio station posted on social networking site Twitter yesterday afternoon stating, " It's being alleged that Vybz Kartel is on Suicide Watch and has been attacked numerous times."

But Johnson, who said that she had just returned from visiting Kartel, the father of her kids, dismissed the allegation stating that he is doing fine.
"Jamaican people need to stop these rumours, I just leave from there, he's not on suicide watch, somebody who is on suicide watch wouldn't get visit. Everything that's bad them call Kartel name. Dem need fi stop it now," an irate Johnson told THE STAR.

When contacted, an officer at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre where Kartel is currently housed, also dismissed the rumours stating, "nothing like that."
Since the radio station's post, another popular station also broadcasted the allegation.
The second station has since received negative backlash for the post, with persons taking to the station's Twitter page to express their displeasure.
Vybz Kartel and his three co-accused are currently serving life sentences for the 2011 murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.
