Zip FM disc jock ZJ Wah Wa has been charged with wire fraud, according to the United States Marshals Service.


Reported THE WEEKEND STAR that ZJ Wah Wa, real name Deon-ville Antonio Ohara, had been arrested in the United States since May 4. According to the Broward Sheriff's Office website, ZJ Wah Wa is currently in custody at Broward County jail in Florida. No reason was stated for his arrest and no release or court date was given.

When further checks were made with the United States Marshals Service, it was revealed that 24-year-old ZJ Wah Wa was charged with wire fraud.
"This subject has been charged with Wire Fraud. The investigating agency is the FBI," said Barry Golden, senior inspector at the U.S., Marshals Service, Southern District of Florida.
Golden instructed THE STAR to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Miami, Florida, but up to news time, THE STAR did not get a response to queries about the case.
Wire fraud is a federal crime. It is a situation where a person concocts a scheme to defraud or obtain money or property based on false representation or promises. This criminal act is done using electronic communications or an interstate communications facility.
ZJ Wah Wa is the promoter of the party series Hamma Fridaze that is held at Skateland, Windward Road in Kingston.
