Judge tells 'Kartel' co-accused to get legal aid if he is broke

ANDRE 'Pim Pim' Henry, who is jointly charged with entertainers 'Vybz Kartel' and Vanessa Saddler, alias 'Gaza Slim' in the attempting to pervert the course of justice case, was yesterday advised by the resident magistrate to get legal aid if he is broke.

'Henry, who was recently ditched by his lawyer because of monetary challenges, was scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday with his new lawyer after the court was previously informed that he was in discussions with a new attorney.
However, when he appeared in court he told Resident Magistrate Simone Wolfe-Reece that his lawyer was on her way, but after a very long wait the lawyer failed to appear
The court was later informed by attorney Tom Tavares-Finson, who represents Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, that Henry still had some issues that he needed to sort out before he can retain the services of a lawyer.

RM Wolfe-Reece then told Henry that she "can't keep setting dates with a hope and a wish", advising him to explore the option of legal aid if he is unable to afford a lawyer.
The matter was then set for this Friday for the court to be notified whether or not Henry has settled his legal representation.
Henry, Vybz Kartel and Saddler will be tried on October 27 on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
They were charged after Saddler allegedly filed a police report stating that she was robbed at gunpoint by a man she identified as Clive 'Lizard' Williams. The alleged incident happened after Kartel was charged with Williams' murder and for which he is now serving time.
