A thug can fall in love, too. Don't believe it? Just ask deejay Vybz Kartel, who tied the knot today in a 'shotgun wedding' of sorts that shocked legions of his faithful fans. In an exclusive interview with YARDFLEX.COM , he revealed that he popped the question to the love-of- his-life last week. "Last week, mi just get up mad and decide fi do it, is like mi get a wedding fever from wha day because my babymother's mother got married recently, and I was the my babymother's mother got married recently, and I was the best man for the groom, so I just decided to do it. I flew her in from New York for the wedding, and it's all good, I am in love, I am happy, this is just glorious," he gushed while holding hands with his beaming, brown-skinned bride. Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidjah Palmer, tied the knot with his lover of four years, Stacy Elliott in a private ceremony before a marriage officer at the Registrar General Department branch office on Trevennion Park in Kingston. The bride, 31 year-old bank supervisor who lives in Bronx, New York, looked stunning in a white chiffon dress, while Vybz Kartel was the essence of thug chic in a black suit, with a white tux, his 'bling bling' jewelry, and white Mondini Italian leather shoes. Vybz Kartel did not appear nervous at all before the afternoon ceremony, and cracked jokes before the couple said their 'I dos' in front of marriage officer Ronald Grey, and two witnesses. None of Kartel's celebrity friends were present. After the ceremony, the couple were whisked away to a wedding reception at Havendale. While there, Kartel mugged for the photographers, with his son, Jaheim, and his bride, and cracked jokes with his entourage of friends. Kartel met Stacy at a stage show alongside Bounty Killer in 2001 in Brooklyn, New York, and the two immediately hit it off. "From the first time, I met her, I knew she was special. So we talked a couple of times on the phone, it wasn't a groupie thing, and we just fell in love little by little. When I am in New York, me and har roll straight, we can talk, we can reason, she has her own thing going on, love is great...y' know, don't get it twisted, a thug can fall in love," he said, laughing. He plans to honeymoon in Montego Bay. "I never got cold feet, I woke up this morning looking forward to getting married, I am getting older, I am changing my image. The girls might say that I am already taken, but I guess they just have to work with it and hope," the man who was recently named Deejay of the Year by dancehall heavyweights, Stone Love, said.
