THE March of Three Kings concert headlined by Mavado, Elephant Man and Wayne Marshall was marred by gunfire which caused a stampede from Margaritaville in Ocho Rios on Saturday night . "A music and love wi seh," shouted Mavado in the parking lot at around 4.35 am to the shaken departing crowd.

The Cake Soap King was there to wash away misconceptions that his skin bleaching was symptomatic of his self-hate and rinsed Afrocentricity. Kartel, one of our most articulate deejays, told his assembled students that "bleaching today is not the same as it was 25 years ago. I maintain that today we are a much prouder race than in the past".

Popular dancehall artiste, Lady Saw, was questioned by members of the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on Tuesday. Lady Saw, whose real name is Marion Hall, was called in by the cops , who are investigating allegations of corruption in a case in which a relative of the artiste is accused of rape.

Deejay Vybz Kartel  might not have gotten back his visa, but that won't be stopping him from performing at this year's 'Best of the Best ' concert in Miami for Memorial Day weekend. Scheduled for the Bicentennial Park in Miami on Sunday, May 29, Kartel will be performing live via satellite. This will be the deejay's first appearance on the show, which will also be featuring the likes of Stephen and Damian Marley, Etana, Tifa, Chino, Stephen McGregor, Assassin, Alison Hinds among others. Haiti-born hip-hop star Wyclef Jean has been released from hospital, after being treated for a gunshot wound to his hand.   The shooting took place late Saturday near the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince just hours before the start of voting in Sunday's  presidential elections.

American Rapper NATE DOGG is Dead at age 41

US singer and rapper Nate Dogg died on Wednesday at the age of 41. His friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg paid tribute to the veteran MC on Twitter, while the Press-Telegram newspaper in his home town of Long Beach, California, cited an announcement from his family. Nate Dogg had suffered strokes in both 2007 and 2008, but the cause of his death is unclear.

MONTEGO BAY, St James — Members of the police force escorted international rap star DJ Drake from the well-attended Brit Jam stage showin Montego Bay early Monday morning. This after the Canadian act spewed profanities while he shared the stage with local dancehall stars Mavado and Aidonia. The abrupt end to the rapper's set, also cut short the much-anticipated performance of the two Alliance members who were connecting nicely with the audience who seemed eager to receive them. Drake, who was summoned on stage by the top flight artiste Mavado, uttered obscenities as he greeted the patrons.

Talk show host 'Ragashanti Live' ordered off Jamaican airwaves

The Broadcasting Commission of Jamaica has directed the management of Nationwide News Network (NNN) Limited to immediately discontinue transmission of the radio programme 'Ragashanti Live' in its current daytime slot. The station has also been required to take the necessary steps to bring its programming into conformity with its public service broadcasting licence and the applicable broadcasting regulations.

The Department of Literatures in English and the Centre for Gender and Development Studies at the University of the West Indies, Mona are hosting a public lecture by Adidja 'Vybz Kartel' Palmer on Thursday, March 10 at 7 p.m., at the Undercroft of the Senate Building. Kartel will speak on the topic, "'Pretty as a Colouring Book': My Life and My Art." Deejay Vybz Kartel and producer NotNice are remaining quiet as to whether there is animosity between them.

Rumours were circulating that the two had stopped working together musically since mid-February. According to several sources, NotNice was assaulted and his studio equipment removed from his house where he was working. It is alleged that Kartel was behind the removal of the equipment. However, it is unclear as to the reasons behind the move.

Police last night confirmed that deejay Shawn Storm is a person of interest and is wanted in connection with a robbery incident in St Andrew. Police said the deejay is being asked to turn himself over to the St Andrew North police or any police station as soon as possible.
