DANCEHALL deejay Adidja Palmer, otherwise called Vybz Kartel, is to turn himself into the police today, after a bulletin was issued by the police that he is a major person of interest. Kartel told Chat! yesterday evening that he had no clue why the police would consider him a person of interest, but he, along with his lawyer Valrie Neita-Robinson will be present at a police station this morning.

Artiste Mr Lexx plays summer movie roles

Dancehall artiste Mr Lexx, already facing the possibility of a secondary career as a model, is spreading his wings even further as he appears in small roles in two movies due out this summer. The entertainer, born Christopher Palmer and who grew up in east Kingston, tells  that he will be seen in films called Wha Do Dem and Out The Gate. Wha Do Dem is a movie about "this dude who comes to Jamaica on a cruise but somehow lost his documents, so he starts a journey from Ocho Rios to the US Embassy in Kingston. On his way he meets different people and I am one of them," Mr. Lexx says. "My role is he comes to me asking directions and I give him a lift, so I get a decent five minutes." The film is written and directed by Ben Chace and stars Sean Bones as the lead character, Max. Max lives in Brooklyn. He enjoys playing soccer, skateboarding, and drinking with his friends at local bars. He and his girlfriend, Willow, played by singer Norah Jones

Solitary confinement is a punishment or special form of imprisonment in which a prisoner is denied contact with any other persons, excluding members of the prison staff. It is considered by some as a form of psychological torture.

Coke has reportedly expressed his intention to waive his right to an extradition hearing and face his accusers in the United States without delay. FORMER Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke is now being held at Spanish Town Police Station in St Catherine. The fugitive was handed over to police by Reverend Al Miller and is prepared to commit himself to due process and waive his right to an extradition hearing. Miller confirmed on a radio programme a few minutes ago that he had been transporting Dudus to the United States Embassy, when the car was stopped by a police spot check team. The police recognised the fugitive, who was being transported to Kingston from out of town. Meanwhile, the police station has been ringed by soldiers who have taken up strategic positions. Curious onlookers have begun gathering outside the police station.

After their physical altercation following the funeral of dancehall artiste Oneil Edwards recently, LA Lewis has released a song hurling insults at Beenie Man. The song, Rush Mi , surfaced on the Internet late last week. In it LA Lewis sings on the same rhythm as Drake's Find Your Love . It also copies the melody of the R&B song, with Drake's voice being heard at intervals. Dudus brother 'Livity' pointed out in forced ID process

Leighton 'Livity' Coke, the brother of the most wanted fugitive in the country, Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, was pointed out on Wednesday afternoon in an identification parade for crimes committed in West Kingston. The cops were forced to hold what is called a "confrontational ID parade" after Livity refused to submit to the parade. This means that the witness was taken to his cell to point him out. The exercise was observed by at least three Justices of the Peace. A senior investigator told RJR News that Wednesday's ID parade was held in connection with a police shooting.

While some promoters await freedom, others question their fate. The promoters of Passa Passa, Prodigal Entertainment, Swash International and Dylan Powe, have said since the outbreak of civil unrest in Tivoli Gardens, there has been no Passa Passa, the dance which has gained for Jamaica, and that community, significant international acclaim. "The last Passa Passa was kept in April and the turnout was not much because of the tension," said Powe.

Rumours had spread online since week that the deejay's girlfriend was spotted sporting a 'baby bump'. Shortage of men an issue in community-TIVOLI GIRLS FIGHT FOR SOLDIERS

A shortage of men in west Kingston is said to have caused female residents to be fighting for the affection of soldiers who are now posted in the community. During a recent trip to the area, residents told tales of what they have been through the last few weeks but afterwards spoke of the actions of some of the women while describing it as shocking, but understandable. US$20,000 bounty placed on Dudus' head

POLICE are offering a reward of US$20,000 (J$1.7 million) for the capture of Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke, the former strongman of Tivoli Gardens in West Kingston. The Police would like to find Coke to execute a warrant of arrest issued by the Courts of Jamaica for him to face extradition proceedings. Coke, 42, the adopted son of another former Tivoli Gardens ‘don’, Lester Lloyd Coke, otherwise called Jim Brown, is wanted by the United States to answer charges related to drug trafficking and gunrunning.
