The 'Flossing King', deejay Flippa Mafia, is still in custody in the United States.

The deejay, real name Andrew Davis, has been charged with violating the United States Immigration law and is facing possible deportation.
When contacted yesterday, Nicole Navas public affairs specialist/spokesperson U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said that the deejay is now in the custody of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement department. Navas was tight-lipped about the matter, however, and would not disclose further information.

Radio broadcaster believes Buju will be freed

While the odds favour a lengthy prison sentence for Buju Banton on cocaine charges in the United States, Jamaican radio personality Lister Hewan-Lowe believes the reggae star will walk away from his trial a free man.
"I don't care how much cocaine he tasted, the Buju Banton thing is a clear case of entrapment," said Hewan-Lowe. "Once he has a lawyer with skills, he should win that case easily."
Hewan-Lowe is one of the longest-serving Jamaicans on US college radio. He has been on WUSB 90.1 for 38 years and hosts the weekly current affairs show, Burn Baby Burn.

Kartel says St Lucia ban 'unfortunate'

The government of the sister island of St Lucia yesterday communicated its decision to ban dancehall deejay Adidja 'Vybz Kartel' Palmer from performing in that Caribbean territory.
In response to news of the ban, Kartel called the situation "unfortunate". According to a statement from his publicist, Vybz Kartel would be working "rectify the situation as quickly as possible" so he could regain access to this market.

Kartel and business partners split.

The weekened star has learnt that the owners of the newly opened Blaze Nightclub and Sports Bar have parted ways with popular dancehall deejay and businessman Vybz Kartel, after both parties failed to come to an agreement over sponsorship.
It was reported by this newspaper that both Kartel and his business partners Corey Todd and Wayne Fagan, had joined forces in the operation of the nightclub which is located at Oak Plaza in Marine Park, Portmore, St Catherine.

A weary-looking Bounty Killer will have to wait until Friday to find out if he will be granted bail.
The dancehall deejay was remanded in custody by Resident Magistrate Georgiana Fraser, during his appearance in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court this morning.
Bounty Killer, whose real name is Rodney Pryce, is accused of assaulting his girlfriend after she told him their three-year relationship was over, and of threatening her life over the telephone in the presence of police officers.

Despite rumours that his United States visa has been revoked, deejay/selector Tony Matterhorn says he is still unsure of his status.
"As far as mi know, mi nuh know if it gone," Matterhorn told  the star yesterday via a telephone conversation while in England.

Visa woes taint music industry

FELLOW entertainers may not benefit from the group of five whose visas were recently revoked, as the entire industry has been tainted, said booking agencies.
Top artistes with US visas now include Capleton, Tarrus Riley, Elephant Man, Assassin, Chino, Voicemail, and Sean Paul, however, US promoters may avoid these and other local deejays altogether due to the risk of subsequent revocations.
