Vybz Kartel Lawyers Explained Why No Bail Application Was Made
Dancehall star Vybz Kartel’s bail application was stalled when the deejay appeared in the Corporate Magistrate’s Court on Friday (December 2).
According to the the Portmore Empire deejay’s attorney Christian Tavares-Finson, they took the decision not to apply for bail because of some outstanding documents.
“We are not entirely surprise at what happened today because there was an indication that something should have been served on us in a previous occasion and to date we have not received those documents,” Tavares-Finson said.
The lawyer disclosed that they knew that police officers would be asking for more time to hand over the documents. However, the judge instructed the prosecution to turn over those documents by December 15th, ahead of a December 19th court date.
Vybz Kartel was granted a $3 million bail on one of two murder charges last week in the Supreme Court. The deejay is hoping to be release before Christmas.
