No bail for Shawn Storm Today March 16, 2012



Lawyers representing dancehall entertainer Shawn Campbell popularly known as "Shawn Storm", failed in their bid to have him released on bail on Friday.


 Shawn Storm who has been in custody since October last year, is charged jointly with Vybz Kartel and four others for the murder of Clive Williams otherwise called "Lizard".

His attorneys argued that there is no evidence linking him to the murder and that he will turn up for his trial if released on bail.  However, the judge was unmoved by the submissions and remanded him in custody.  Vybz Kartel was also remanded.  The other accused are Shane Williams, Andre St John, Kahira Jones and Calvin Hay otherwise called "Moonie".

Moonie has been released on two million dollars bail. The men are to return on April 13. The men were charged last year following investigation into the murder of Clive Williams.  It's alleged that on August 16, last year, Mr. Williams was taken to a house in Havendale, St Andrew, where he was badly beaten and stabbed to death over the disappearance of a missing gun.  The cops reported that they seized a cellular phone used to video tape the gruesome killing.

MAN SHORTAGE AFFECTS CHURCHES IN JAMAICA - Christian women complain of lack of potential husbands

he shortage of men has become a growing problem in several Jamaican churches. The st ar understands that with some church population having as much as 80 per cent women, a large number of females have been left with a problem to find husbands.
