R &B artiste Pharrel Williams partnering with NASA’s Summer of Innovation
Hip Hop recording artiste and producer Pharrel Williams of the Neptunes has partnered with NASA, the (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), to host an educational event on Saturday, April 23, that is poised to encourage students to pursue science, technology, engineering and math studies and careers.
NASA’s Summer of Innovation is a key part of President Barack Obama’s Educate to Innovate campaign, which was launched to help keep middle school students engaged during school breaks.
He recently took to twitter posting, “Yes!! Just got my confirmation to travel to space in 2013 thanx to Richard Branson!! I’m gonna see Earth!!”
Pharrell bought his six-figure ticket to outer space back in 2008.
Prerequisites for taking the trip include training with NASA and health screenings.
The cost of one ticket is said to be about US$200,000.
