Vybz Kartel hunts love in reality Tv show




Vybz Kartel is looking for love. A dating reality show Teacha's Pet is being launched on CVM at the end of September.

A 'teaser' promotional video for the reality show hit the Internet on the weekend and has caused a stir online.
According to the show's Youtube channel , "Teacha's Pet is a reality TV dating show surrounding the love life and career of the artiste Vybz Kartel, who goes on a world-wide search in quest of the one person who truly deserves his heart, as he desperately searches to find the Teacha's Pet."


The concept surrounds 20 ladies all living in one house in "the uptown area of Kingston, Jamaica", vying for the love of Kartel. In the video Kartel states, "right now we're looking for 20 ladies: 10 from Jamaica, 10 from all over the world. So if you are interested, this is your chance to get di man, di Teacha, di dancehall hero. So send yuh email information, yuh video clippings to teachaspet@gmail.com and if you're abroad we'll fly yuh in. Don't worry yuhself a di teacha's pet and there can be only one."
It is further stated that applicants for the show must be 18 years and over to enter. Casting for the show ends onn August 5 and all the girls must be able to live in Kingston, Jamaica, for four weeks starting August 20.
Since being posted on youtube on Sunday, the video has got more than 2,000 views. Popular video director Jay Will is on board as the show's director and LIME TV will be airing "too hot for TV" footage.
On social networking site Twitter.com, responses to the show were varied. Some of the naysayers commented, "it's another publicity stunt to garner attention. as well as to further poison the minds of the young," while another added, "it's utter and complete foolishness and a waste of sensible Jamaican time and money."

Others commented, "I hope the quality is up to par with US standards." The show also seems to be getting positive responses as someone said, "Show will be a hit, love him or hate him, his marketing is on point," while someone else said, "he is creative and he is a real entertainer in all aspects. It will be interesting, big up yuhself world boss."

MAN SHORTAGE AFFECTS CHURCHES IN JAMAICA - Christian women complain of lack of potential husbands

he shortage of men has become a growing problem in several Jamaican churches. The st ar understands that with some church population having as much as 80 per cent women, a large number of females have been left with a problem to find husbands. This is a huge concern for a number of churches, with at least one reverend saying the shortage is at a crisis level.Reverend Philbert Johnson, ministry development officer in the New Testament Church of God, said there is a serious shortage in the number of men in the church as women in their 30s and late 40s cannot find a suitable partner.
