Beenie Man urges Barbados to ‘ease up on Jamaicans’ 2011
International dancehall artiste Beenie has weighed in on relations between Barbados and Jamaica after allegations surfaced that Jamaicans traveling to the CARICOM country were abused by immigration officers at the Grantley Adams International Airport.
No stranger to controversy, Beenie Man has said that given the close music relationship between the countries, things should have gone differently.
While at a performance at the Reggae Beach Party in Brandons Beach, St. Michael last Sunday, the Doc warned Barbadian immigration officials to stop pressuring Jamaicans.
Beenie's words were, “Ease up on Jamaican. Stop pressure Jamaican.”
He added that several of his friends had been detained and abused by immigration officials after coming to Barbados on legitimate business.
