Potential Kidd Agrees With LIME's Decision To Drop Him?
A promotional deal between Tele Communications Company LIME and Entertainer Potential Kidd has turned SOUR resulting in the premature end of the partnership with the Trench Town deejay.
The move came following a public outcry over controversial lyrical content of Potential Kidd’s dancehall anthem, “A Yah So Nice” which was used by the company to promote Boys and Girls Champs.
According to a release sent from LIME Jamaica’s Managing Director, Garry Sinclair, the company has decided to replace the artiste in the promotion. LIME stated that after analyzing the unedited version of the song, it agreed that the lyrics were unacceptable. Sinclair also stated that the company does not endorse or support any idea or sentiment that promotes unlawful or anti-social behaviour against any person in the society.
Potential Kidd’s manager Angelita McKenzie says they are in agreement with LIME’s decision and that the deejay will take the necessary steps to prove that he does not support violence against women or homosexuals.
