Samsung Smartphones hopes to make business inroads in Jamaica
Korean electronics firm, Samsung, says it's looking to displace Blackberry as the number one smart phone in the Jamaican market.
Samsung says it aims to do that with its new Galaxy S3 smart phone, which follows the Galaxy S2 which was billed as the number one smart phone last year.
Senior Sales Manager at Samsung Electronics with responsibility for the Caribbean, Max Izageierre, says his company's smart phone is now at number 4 or 5 in the local market.
The intention is to move it to number one by the end of next year.
He added that the company will be building out its presence in the Jamaican market to capitalize on growth potential it sees for the Samsung range of electronic products.
