Deva Brat disses Vybz Kartel and deejays in new song 2011

A little over a week after returning to Jamaica, dancehall artiste Deva Bratt has launched a scorching attack on several acts in the industry.

Deva Bratt said he decided to do the song, Devastation, based on the general vibe currently in the music business.

"Is because me just come off a tour and mi feel like hold da vibes deh 'cause mi hear bere mix up a talk. So mi a talk bout the people weh a talk bout the mix-up," said the artiste, who spent two months in Holland, doing 15 club gigs and one festival.

"I haven't violated anyone really. I spoke about what people are talking about. It's no hype thing, just lyrics and I am sure people are enjoying it."

He said the song was done because it is coming close to Sting that is usually held on December 26 at Jam World in Portmore. In addition, he said he did the song on that particular rhythm because it stands out more than some others that are fused with hip hop.

In the song, he mentioned artistes like Lisa Hype, Tony Matterhorn, Twin of Twins, Mavado, I-Octane, Khago, Jah Vinci, Notnice, Corey Todd, Kym (formerly Gaza Kim), Merital Family, Bounty Killer and Vybz Kartel.

"Di one weh a freak out and bleach out/ We just cut and paste and delete out/ Octane a ask weh dem a dream bout/ And Khago seh him sell frens cheap out/ Dats why Notnice and Jah Vinci leave out/ And Tony Matterhorn and Twin of Twins have beef and a tweet out/ Dem tek weh Merital money bag and run weh Gaza Kim 'cause she neva blow no job/ Diss Corey Todd and Street Vybz turn inna Yaad Swag."

While he appreciates the good response thus far, Deva Bratt said he is disappointed that people pay more attention to this controversial song and not some of his other songs which he believes are better.
"I've done quite a few good songs throughout the year but this is the fastest rising one because it has the negative thing that people always gravitate to," Deva Bratt told the star.
Nonetheless, Deva Bratt said his recent European stint was a learning experience.

"The experience in Europe was great. It has taught me a lot about reggae and dancehall music. I am going to use what I have learnt about the music," he said, noting that he did two music videos and voiced for four producers while there.

While in Holland, Deva Bratt said he released songs like Stay Fly, With Her and Floss Wi A Floss. In recent times, he said he has been working with production companies like Crucial Conflict, Architect Records, Pusha Productions, AR15 Music, Chilando Records, JJ Wizzle and others.
