Vybz Kartel leaves plane, ditches show in Guyana


Dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel yesterday left a Caribbean Airlines plane minutes before take-off and has left the promoters of a show in Guyana in a panic.

It is understood that Kartel was on board a flight destined to take him to Guyana where he would be appearing at the Jam Zone Summer Break show along with deejay Mavado.

When contacted last night, Kartel explained his reason for leaving the flight. "Some man a Guyana want to either kill me or kidnap me and I have nothing more to say."

    I think that we as Caribbean people should come together and punish him stop buy cds don't promote his music demand public apology and of course refunds

MAN SHORTAGE AFFECTS CHURCHES IN JAMAICA - Christian women complain of lack of potential husbands

he shortage of men has become a growing problem in several Jamaican churches. The st ar understands that with some church population having as much as 80 per cent women, a large number of females have been left with a problem to find husbands. This is a huge concern for a number of churches, with at least one reverend saying the shortage is at a crisis level.Reverend Philbert Johnson, ministry development officer in the New Testament Church of God, said there is a serious shortage in the number of men in the church as women in their 30s and late 40s cannot find a suitable partner. Johnson, a pastor at one of the Testament branches, said at that location he had approximately 300 members of which only 40 were men.
