No clashes at Sting 2010 - Organisers promoting unity at Boxing Day event
Promoter of the annual event, Sting, Isaiah Laing says there will be some great reasons for patrons to come out early to start enjoying themselves at this year's show slated for its annual Boxing Day date.
Another treat in store will be a 11:45 special which the promoter is not ready to divulge what that will entail as yet.
"It will be something to see, so those who like to come out after midnight, they should think twice as they will be missing something really special," he hinted.
Sting is known for its many memorable clashes, but this year, promoter Isaiah Laing said the show will be built on unity, "there will be no clash, this year we might have a powerful collab," he said.
As usual no expense will be spared on security as the promoter says Sting has always maintained that aspect and this year will be no different. "Some might think we are too stringent, but we can't do otherwise, we can't afford to compromise on this," was the firm promise.
This year artiste will be performing under six segments: 13 Bad Girls of Sting, Comedy Hour, Spotlight, Disc Jocks, Starlight and 13 Warriors of Sting.
Early names for 13 Bad Girls are Ce'Cile, Pamputtae and Lisa Hyper; Comedy Hour will focus on some of the comedic performers such as Twin of Twins, Food Kartel and Tanto Blacks. The Spotlight segment will see performances from artistes Nesbeth, Zamunda and Singer Jah. As usual upcoming talents will get their chance to shine in the Starlight segment.
Regarding performers for the segments Disc Jock and 13 Warriors of Sting, Laing was very mysterious, "Wait until the press launch on November 23, it is going to be something," was the only thing the promoter would give away.
With progress being the name of the game, Laing says he has taken note of the many complaints that were lodged regarding last year's staging.
"We got a lot of complaints that the show was too drawn out...this year we will be ensuring that patrons don't have that problem," Laing pointed out adding that once the prime acts start making their way on stage in the category dubbed 13 Warriors of Sting, it will go right through to the end.
"There will definitely be no time for boredom," promised Laing.
Another 'treat' in store for patrons at this year's Sting will be at its closing, "this year I have something special for closing the show," is another of Laing's
