Mavado found guilty of assault & destruction of property, fined $100,000
Dancehall Artiste Mavado was found guilty of assault and causing grievous bodily arm when he appeared in the Montego Bay Registrate Magistrate Court on Monday May 7, 2012.
He was fined 80 thousand dollars or six months in prison.
He was also charged with malicious destruction of property or pay a fine of 20-thousand dollars or six months in jail.
The sentences are to run concurrently.
Mavado, who's given name is David Brooks, was on trial for malicious destruction of property, following an incident last year in the Belmont, St James.
He was accused of being part of a group that attacked two men following a motor vehicle accident.
