Alledged Shower Posse group members arrested in Canada raid

The Canadian police conducted several raids across the country yesterday which led to the arrest of more than a dozen alleged members of the Shower Posse gang and exposed the “tentacles” of a Jamaican criminal organization.

According to the Toronto Star, more than 1,000 police officers were involved in this operation which yielded at least 78 arrests, 19 firearms, cocaine, marijuana, as well as cash and cheques amounting to over $40,000 respectively.

Toronto police chief Bill Blair at a press conference yesterday said over the course of this investigation, a more significant organised crime involvement has been identified.

The police alleged that Shower Posse has been supplying local street gangs with drugs and weapons and is profiting from their criminal activities.

According to the US State Department, it alleges that Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke, who is currently fighting extradition in that country is linked to the Shower Posse and is a prominent member of the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
