The Duhaney Park police, who are investigating the shooting of Voicemail member Oneil Edwards, say while they have not yet established an official motive for the incident, they are investigating two possible theories.
Edwards, who was shot several times as he entered his Duhaney Park home early Monday morning, was said to be in serious condition up to late last night.
When the Duhaney Park Police Station was contacted last night, the officer in charge was said to be unavailable for comment.
A corporal there, however, told THE STAR that a motive was not yet confirmed for the attack. The lawman said the police are looking into two explanations they have heard so far.
The first theory, the officer said, is that the artiste had a recent altercation with some men after he refused to give them money. It is not certain where these men are from.
The second argument suggests that the recent staging of Edward's' birthday celebration had, for some reason, not gone down well with thugs from a St Andrew community.
The entertainment fraternity, rocked by the shooting, staged a vigil yesterday morning in Half-Way Tree. Several artistes, including the other members of the group, have also maintained a presence at the hospital.
