How did you get started in the business?
Popcaan: Through Vybz Kartel, I was bleaching at a ting name My Scheme and he came and invited me to come to the studio, that was in 2007.

What has been your greatest challenge in the business yet?
Popcaan: Mi nuh really buck up inna no greatest challenge yet.



What have you been up to lately?
 Popcaan: Recording a lot, have a few videos in the making as well. I have new singles coming out like Dream for Notnice, Gangsta City for Notnice and Mama for Coolface, as well as a few more.

Do you look up to any specific artiste and why?
Popcaan: Vybz Kartel and Sizzla because di two of dem a one of a kind, a just di locks a separate dem. Di two of dem do the best type of music in the business right now to me.

Are you happy with the way things are going for your musical career right now?
Popcaan: Yes, I am.

Do you have any advice for young artistes coming up?
Popcaan: Yea, young artistes must stay true to anything weh dem a do, do it to the best of your ability and stay on top of your game at all times.

Where do you see yourself in the future?
Popcaan: Di sky is my limit, so I see myself as the next big act from Jamaica, the most influential artiste in the business. Also doing whole heap of tings for the yutes, building schools and dem tings.

MAN SHORTAGE AFFECTS CHURCHES IN JAMAICA - Christian women complain of lack of potential husbands

he shortage of men has become a growing problem in several Jamaican churches. The st ar understands that with some church population having as much as 80 per cent women, a large number of females have been left with a problem to find husbands. This is a huge concern for a number of churches, with at least one reverend saying the shortage is at a crisis level.Reverend Philbert Johnson, ministry development officer in the New Testament Church of God, said there is a serious shortage in the number of men in the church as women in their 30s and late 40s cannot find a suitable partner. Johnson, a pastor at one of the Testament branches, said at that location he had approximately 300 members of which only 40 were men. He further said that approximately 20 of those are already married.
