Comedian Jookie Jam on fraud charge... 60 persons have recorded complaints against the accused
Popular roots play actor Stede 'Jookie Jam' Flash appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday charged with conspiracy to defraud.
Flash, who has his bail extended until June 16, is charged along with Sophia Wilson and Derecia Smith, who are both charged with obtaining money by means of false pretence.
The court was informed that Wilson and Smith collected several hundred thousand dollars in local and United States currencies.
Investigations said people from all over the island were told they would be secured employment in the hospitality industry overseas. The complainants were invited to a shopping centre in West Cumberland where the money was paid and documents collected.
It was borne out that Flash collected the Documents on behalf of the other two accused.
When the case came up before Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Green it was said that more than 60 persons have recorded complaints against the accused.Some were told to seek civil recourse against the group.
